Success is not a given in this world we live in

But anything is possible

But you won’t get far blaming the height of the bar

And not hold yourself responsible

You’re the only one in control of the actions

That lead to your own satisfaction

And you’re destined to fail if you’d rather prevail

Using coat tails to gain your traction

It’s good to show your appreciation for your inspiration

But there’s a very fine line between influence and blatant imitation

Now I won’t stand here and make what you’re gonna just call false allegations

So just consider this a personal invitation to sticking to your own creations

Well I don’t wanna see your feelings get hurt or your reputation covered in dirt

So I’ve got some advice you can use next time you’re preparing a musical work

It’s not always best to reinvest in an idea thought of by your neighbor

You should believe in your own creativity and keep your eyes on your own paper

It’s good to show your appreciation for your inspiration

But there’s a very fine line between influence and blatant imitation

Now I won’t stand here and make what you’re gonna just call false allegations

So just consider this a personal invitation to sticking to your own creations

Well all my songs appear to be the same

I’d like to think I am consistent

And I still haven’t found any magical sound to convince anybody to listen

You prefer to stay relevant with your pathetic plea to get people to care

Where I’d rather pour my heart into this empty room

Then to sell my soul to fill these chairs

It’s good to show your appreciation for your inspiration

But there’s a very fine line between influence and blatant imitation

Now I won’t stand here and make what you’re gonna just call false allegations

So just consider this a personal invitation to sticking to your own creations
